Design Institute of San Diego

For over 30 years, the Design Institute of San Diego (DISD) has trained students in the fine art of interior design. With a single focus on one BFA program in interior design, DISD fosters a creative learning environment for students that boasts modern facilities and a knowledgeable, professional staff. The BFA program offers flexible day and evening scheduling and is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Education.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design

  • Our curriculum is structured like a network of interrelated parts that build upon each other.
  • We put a lot of thought into every aspect of your interior design education - the order in which you take courses - which courses interact with each other - how you get exactly what you need when you need it.
  • Your major has been pre-selected before enrollment so that you begin your interior design courses immediately - no time wasted.

Admissions: Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or an equivalent (GED). Training or experience in art and design is not required.

Financial Aid: DISD participates in a variety of federal and state financial aid programs and can help every student determine their eligibility for loans and grants.

Accreditation: The Design Institute of San Diego is a senior college accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree. The Interior Design Program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree is a professional level program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) - formerly FIDER.
